Artham

Privacy policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026.

Artham is a Jain learning app for iPhone and Android. This page explains what the app does with your information.

No account needed

Artham works without an account or sign-in. Your bookmarks, reading positions, settings, jaap counts and tap calendar are stored only on your phone.

Anonymous usage analytics

Artham uses Aptabase to count which screens and features are used, along with the app version, operating system and language, and, if the app crashes, the technical error message. This helps us see what is useful and what to improve. Analytics never include your name, email, contacts, location or anything you type. There is no advertising and no tracking across other apps or websites. Analytics are on by default and you can turn them off at any time in Settings.

Your city

The panchang and reminders use a city you choose from a list. If you tap "Use my location", Artham asks your phone for its approximate location once, picks the nearest city in the list, and keeps only that city. Your location is not stored or sent anywhere, and Artham never asks for it in the background.

Notifications

Reminders (Navkarsi, Chauvihar, gatha of the day and parva days) are off until you turn them on. They are scheduled on your phone; no server is involved.

Audio and recordings

Recitation audio is downloaded from our server and kept on your phone so it plays offline. "Hear it sung" recordings and pravachans play from YouTube inside the app; when you play one, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video.

Problem reports

If you report a problem or suggest a feature, Artham sends your message, the screen or item you were on, the content version and the app version to our database (hosted by Supabase). It does not send your name, email, device identifiers or location, and the app cannot read reports back. New reports are emailed to the Artham team once a day through Resend, an email delivery service. If the database cannot be reached, your phone's email app opens with the same details instead, and nothing is sent until you send that email yourself.

Children

Artham does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
